Max T. Stephenson is an attorney in the family law department at Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown, LLP. Max helps clients work through the complexities of each unique divorce. His practice also includes representing clients in paternity actions, post-judgment actions, guardianships, and injunctions. A graduate of Marquette University School of Business Administration ('10) and Marquette University Law School ('13), Max joined the firm as a law clerk in 2012. He has since become Partner and practices exclusively in a family law setting.
His dedication to giving back remains strong as he serves as a part of the coaching staff for the National Moot Court Competition team. Max has also become well-versed in LGBTQ+ family law cases and was the driving force behind the firm being honored with the “Diversity In Business” award from the Wisconsin Law Journal due to his work in the LGBTQ+ legal community. Max has been a frequent speaker on various family law topics. He has also been named a “Best Lawyer-Ones to Watch” and Super Lawyer-Rising Star” and is Past President of the Milwaukee Young Lawyers’ Association.
When Max is not serving his clients at GRGB, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons and daughter. He has also been mastering his skills on the barbeque.

Max and Megan Stephenson still have an ongoing debate regarding how they actually met as college students at Marquette but they hit it off and haven’t looked back. Now their family has grown to include Callahan (3), Ellis (2) and a little girl arriving in September.
